MICHELIN LTX M/S2 MAKES A SPLASH

Remnants of Hurricane Ida recently helped the tire and automotive press discover the wet-road handling capabilities of Michelin North America Inc.'s (MNA) new Michelin LTX M/S2 tire for light trucks and full-size SUV's. At the company's Laurens (S.C.) The LTX M/S2, according to MNA officals, who add that it was develped to offer long lasting value and safety in any weather. The LTX M/S2 is the latest generaton of Michelin's LTX M/S line, which was introduced in 1992 and has since become one of the biggest sellers in the company's line of light truck tires.
The Michelin LTX M/S tire is proven in the market and we have worked hard to ensure that the next generation of this product is even better.
New technologies in the Michelin LTX M/S tire include: • 3D Active Sipes, which are interlocking sipes that allow the tread blocks to lock together and preserve rgidity. Greater density of full-depth 3D Action Sipes allow 8% more biting edges taht the prior generation Michelin LTX M/S and offers better snow traction, say company officials. Less bending of the tread blocks under torque results in less energy used. • Advanced MaxTouch construction creates a contact patch that evenly distributes the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering.
• Three steel belts that provide durability and strength to handle loads of up to 13,500 pounds.
Thirty-eight P-metric and LT sizes are being introduced in 2009 and 2010, will all sizes being available by March.
The tire will carry a 70,000-mile limited warratny. Advertising for the Michelin LTX M/S2 will be part of a larger, global effort by the company that includes an "enhanced digital strategy".
